While outdoor ceremonies, musical events and a fun-filled culinary evening in Jerusalem’s Mahane Yehuda emphasized the centrality of Jerusalem in the University’s identity, our HUJI Talks showcased the increasing importance of High-Tech in every facet of our research as well as in our daily lives.

Celebrating 100 Years of the Laying of the University Cornerstones
This year’s annual Board of Governors (BOG) meeting was marked with special distinction as The Hebrew University of Jerusalem celebrated the centennial anniversary of the laying of its cornerstones. The theme of this year’s BOG was 100 Years of Knowledge.

The Israel Prize, the State of Israel's most prestigious honor, is awarded annually on Independence Day as the highest recognition of Israeli individuals who have displayed excellence in their fields as well as those who have made an outstanding contribution to the State of Israel and the culture of the nation.
This year, the Israel Prize will be awarded to four faculty members, and an Honorary Doctorate recipient.
Hebrew University's Israel Institute for Advanced Studies (IIAS) welcomes its newest director, Professor Yitzhak Hen.
Beginning June 2018, Hen will head the IIAS, a national institution devoted to academic research located at the Edmond J. Safra campus at Givat Ram.
