Discovery of the body’s endocannabinoid system by Hebrew University Scientists increases the applicability of cannabidiol for medical purposes


The increasing ability to harness cannabidiol, a derivative of cannabis, to treat medical problems is due to the body’s endocannabinoid system (ECS).

This system, discovered by scientists at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, is a set of natural pathways in our brain and body which carry messages to various regions to manage and regulate pain, appetite, mood regulation, and memory.

OrCam start-up, which was established by Mobileye’s founders Amnon Shashua and Ziv Aviram, has developed devices that assist the blind and visually impaired with a camera and smart algorithms. Mobileye was based on Hebrew University technology.
