To support those affected by the war, and the aftermath of war, the University has established the We Are One fundm with an initial goal of raising 5 million dollars. We welcome contributions of any amount, and the Dean of Students will make allocations in consultation with University leadership based upon the changing needs on the ground.

The following are some of the campaign goals, with further details below:

  • Scholarships and Academic Assistance for Returning Soldiers
  • Aid for Special Circumstances
  • Psychological Counseling Throughout the Crisis and Beyond as Needed
  • Emergency Assistance - Administered as per Dean of Students' Discretion
  • Tutoring
  • Student Exchange Cut Short
  • Recording Equipment
  • Legal Clinics
  • Security on Campus
  • Mental Health
  • Jewish-Arab Relations

There are immediate needs, including some of the examples below, and there will be needs as we move forward and return to a new reality.

  • Counseling

The University has made counseling services available for any members of the community who need it – whether students or staff. We expect this need will only grow as the conflict continues, and as soldiers return from active duty.

  • Aid for Special Circumstances

Students from the south have lost their homes and their belongings, others have tragic stories of injured or dead family members, severe trauma. We want to be able to provide assistance to those who need it, and have already begun distrubting aid directly to those students in need.

  • Student Exchange Cut Short

Some Hebrew University students had already begun their study abroad when Israel was attacked. Many felt compelled to return to Israel to join the fight and help defend Israel however they can, through active duty or in other ways. They need tickets home and initial financial support.

  • Scholarships & Academic Assistance for Returning Soldiers

Thousands of our students have been or will be called up to active duty. Even with the postponement of the start of the academic year, they will miss the opportunity to study and to take exams, and they are putting their lives on the line for their community and country.  As they serve us, we wish to serve them.

To support those affected by the war, and the aftermath of war, including activities such as those described above, the University established the We Are One fund.  Contributions of any amount are welcome and will be allocated by the Dean of Students in consulation with University leadership.

These tragic times remind us of the human cost of war and the true blessings of family and friends. As we mourn those we have lost and prepare for difficult days ahead, we find comfort in community and strength in solidarity. We are grateful for your support.

We Are One.
