About

The British Friends of the Hebrew University was established in 1926 and has been inextricably involved in all aspects of the university's developments over the course of over 10 decades.  A charitable entity registered in England & Wales, BFHU is committed to supporting capital projects, research programmes and student scholarships across the gamut of the Hebrew University's academic activity.  In addition, BFHU works to support UK students wishing to study at the Hebrew University including student exchange programmes.  Funding is also provided for Hebrew University graduates pursuing post-graduate study and research at the UK's leading institutions. Finally, we work to promote the Hebrew University's achievements and it standing on the world stage.

BFHU is the leading Israeli university charitable cause in the UK garnering support through a variety of events, groups, PR including on-line, legacy programmes and other activities.

Our groups include: legal, medical, womens, young professional and Alumni as well as an active regional group in Glasgow, Scotland.

 

Leadership

Our small professional team of 6, headed by Chief Executive Nigel Salomon, is based in the London office looking after all aspects of the BFHU operation

Our board of 10 trustees is chaired by Alan Jacobs; our President is Isaac Kaye.
